Inmate charged with riot in a penal institution

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing charges of battery and riot in a penal institution following an incident early Friday.
According to jail records, Wade Carroll Hamon, of an Old Airport Road address, attacked his cellmate, throwing him from his bunk.
Hammon has been in jail since January 11 of 2016 when he was arrested for aggravated stalking after allegedly knocking on a car window of a woman who had a restraining order out against him.
In May of last year, Hammon was charged with felony obstruction, battery and riot in a penal institution after he allegedly fought with guards at the jail.
