The Rome Braves are set to host their 3rd Annual “Sliding Into Christmas Celebrity Wiffle Ball Showcase” early next month at the Miracle Field of Rome.
The Braves began the event in 2015 as a way to raise money for those in need during the Christmas season.
Registration for the charity event wraps-up this week as the rosters for the game are close to being completed. The Braves have invited local celebrities to take part in the game, which is scheduled to take place Saturday, November 4th. Each player selected to participate in the game then raises between $100 and $750 in charitable donations, money which goes towards providing gifts for needy children and senior citizens this holiday season.
Gates will open at 11 AM with games getting underway at 11:30. The event will also feature live music, BBQ and other refreshments. The public is welcome to attend the Wiffle Ball Showcase and cheer on their favorite teams and players.
