Floyd County Commission meets Tuesday

The Floyd County Commission is expected to adopt 2018 candidate qualifying fees when they meet this afternoon.

The fees, which are $216 for county commission and $144 for county school board, are on the consent agenda for the meeting.

The commission will also take time to recognize employees who went above and beyond to assist others, including Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputies who helped in the emergency delivery of a baby at the Floyd County Judicial Center.

They will also recognize Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Crew Leader John Davis, who performed life-saving measures on a co-worker in distress.

Tuesday’s commission meeting begins at 4 p.m. in the county administration building.
