From staff reports
Police say the body of a woman found in a vehicle in Heritage Park on Monday had no obvious signs of trauma.
The body of 26-year-old Marika Marie Nelson was found in the back of Ford Taurus underneath a sleeping bag, officials said.
She had been dead about 36 hours.
Capt. Roy Willingham of the Rome Police Department said Nelson had been living in the car at the time of her death.
Police are investigating conflicting stories as to how long the car was at the park, he said.
Nelson’s body has been sent to the state crime lab in Atlanta for an autopsy.
