Former president Donald Trump surrendered at the Fulton County Jail Thursday after being indicted earlier this month.

The 41-count indictment returned by a Fulton County Grand Jury against Trump and 18 others alleges the defendants participated in a “criminal enterprise” that aimed to reverse his loss in Georgia’s 2020 presidential election.

Trump flew into Atlanta, was driven in a motorcade to the jail, where he posted bond and was released.

The entire process at the jail lasted less than 30 minutes.

Back at the airport, Trump made a brief statement to reporters.

“What has taken place here is a travesty of justice. We did nothing wrong. I did nothing wrong and everybody knows it,” Trump said. “I’ve never had such support and that goes with the other ones too. What they’re doing is election interference.”

Thursday evening, a small pro-Trump demonstration took place at Five Points in Rome.
