Five accused of stealing power

Five Rome residents have been arrested on charges of 1st-degree burglary, theft of services, and damaging the property of a public utility.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

48-year-old William Kelley Brock, 52-year-old Richard Jody Trapp, 41-year-old Shannon Rose Lemos, 39-year-old Kevin Larry Jones, and 39-year-old Nicole Lee Hall were found inside a home on Malone Driver in Garden Lakes without paying for living expenses or power.

A sixth person was also found in the home.

46-year-old Nathan Tyrone Wright is charged with a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass.

Man arrested on burglary charge

A 38-year-old Rome man is facing charges of 2nd-degree burglary and loitering or prowling following his arrest Thursday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Alonzo Cullens Jr. entered an unoccupied building next to the victim’s residence on Booze Mountain Road and stole a pair of work boots valued at $150.

He is also accused of loitering after hours on the campus of Georgia Highlands College on Cedartown Highway in Rome.

Man charged in 2021 theft

An Adairsville man has been arrested in the theft of a Branson tractor and trailer with attachments that occurred in July of 2021.

According to the arrest warrant:

43-year-old Barry Donald Mount had permission to take the equipment but did not have permission to sell it, which he did, to a person in Calhoun.

The equipment was valued at $30,000.

Mount is charged with felony theft by taking.

Two arrested at Decatur Street home on drug charges

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers executed a search warrant at a home on Decatur Street and arrested a Snellville, Georgia man on drug charges.

40-year old Charles Roscoe Adams was found with quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and MDMA, along with digital scales, packaging materials, and two firearms.

He is charged with possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

Meanwhile, 36-year-old Lindsay Nicole Wheat was arrested at the same residence and charged with possession of meth, possession of marijuana and tampering with evidence.

She reportedly tried to dispose of the marijuana when she saw police.

Stolen firearm recovered

The execution of a search warrant on Southern Street leads to the recovery of a stolen firearm.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers found 46-year-old William Donnell Trammell Jr. with a pistol that had been stolen, along with marijuana that had been packaged separately, and digital scales.

Trammell is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Alabama man facing drug charges

A Mobile, Alabama man was booked into the Floyd County Jail recently on charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and fugitive from justice.

According to jail records:

49-year-old Derrick Tyrone Boykin was found with methamphetamine and fentanyl during the execution of a search warrant on Decatur Street.

Boykin also has multiple warrants for his arrest in Alabama and is being held for a probation violation.
