Man accused of shooting at three people on Burnett Ferry Road

A Rome man was jailed over the weekend on three counts of aggravated assault in connection with an incident that occurred on September 11.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

43-year-old Antwon Lavince Edwards shot at three people during an argument on Burnett Ferry Road.

One of the victims was a 6-year-old child.

Edwards was also found with syringes containing a black substance.

He is additionally charged with 3rd-degree cruelty to children, reckless conduct, and possession of a controlled substance.

Teen charged with aggravated child molestation

A teenager has been arrested on charges of aggravated child molestation and aggravated sodomy in connection with an incident earlier this year at a location in West Rome.

According to the arrest warrant:

17-year-old Jason David Booth molested a child under the age of 10.

The incident occurred on July 31, according to the warrant.

Report: Woman stole vehicle, wallet

A 28-year-old Rome woman is accused of stealing a 2005 Chrysler 300 with a man’s wallet inside.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Julie Evelyn Bodine took the vehicle, valued at $2,000, from a location on Shorter Avenue on July 18.

Bodine is also accused of giving a false name to a deputy who was attempting to serve the arrest warrant at a location on Maple Road Sunday.

Bodine is charged with theft by taking an article from an automobile, theft by taking a motor vehicle and giving a false name or address to law enforcement.

Woman charged with battery, damage to property

A 33-year-old Rome woman is facing charges of battery and criminal damage to property following her arrest on Venetian Way.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Heather Leann Holt punched the victim and then threw the victim’s cell phone out of a moving vehicle, causing it to break.

Wisconsin man facing drug charges locally

A man from Oshkosh, Wisconsin was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend following his arrest on Cartersville Highway in Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

28-year old Ethan Shane Lauders had two bags of suspected ketamine, which according to the DEA, is an anesthetic that has some hallucinogenic effects.

Launders also had suspected MDMA and found to have a warrant for his arrest in Wisconsin.

He is charged with possession of controlled substances, possession with the intent to distribute, and fugitive from justice.

Two arrested during traffic stop

Two Savannah men were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop on Cartersville Highway at Mathis Road in Rome.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

22-year old Jackson Rhys Norman was found in possession of suspected cocaine.

22-year old Blake Allen Vessels was found with suspected THC oil.

Two charged with felony shoplifting

Two Florida teens have been arrested on charges of felony theft by shoplifting.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

19-year-old Brandonlee Donnell Williams and 19-year-old Anthony Jermain Floyd were caught stealing more than $911 in merchandise from the East Rome Walmart.
