Woman charged with intimidation of the elderly and battery

A Dallas, Georgia woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on charges of exploitation or intimidation of the elderly and battery.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Tabitha Shehan Jones forcefully grabbed an elderly woman’s arm and knocked a call light from the victim’s hand.

The victim sustained a cut and bruising to her hand and arm.

Jones was acting as the victim’s caregiver at the time of the incident.

Man accused of breaking iPhone

A 21-year-old Rome man has been charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property in connection with an incident on December 27 on Agnes Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Timothy Ralph Lee Peek broke the victim’s iPhone 10 over his knee, snapping it in half.

He also damaged the door of a 1995 Buick, which caused it to not shut completely.

Report: Man caught “skip-scanning” at East Rome Walmart

A 36-year-old Cave Spring man is facing a felony shoplifting charge following his arrest on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Joshua Glenn Hunter attempted to steal more than $500 in merchandise from the East Rome Walmart by “skip-scanning” and making fraudulent scans at the self-checkout.

Woman charged with meth possession

A small amount of methamphetamine landed a 55-year-old Rome woman behind bars on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Vivian Louise Tucker was arrested at a location on Lynne Avenue and is charged with possession of meth.

Report: Inmate admitted to having tobacco

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing a felony charge after he was found in possession of tobacco.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

58-year-old Franklin Eugene Kelly admitted that he had tobacco.

He is charged with items prohibited for possession by inmates.

Kelly has been in jail since November 15 when he was arrested for failure to appear.

He is also being held for Gilmer County authorities.
