Rome City Commissioner Craig McDaniel has been selected as Rome’s next mayor.
His fellow commissioners elected McDaniel during Monday’s city commission meeting.
“I am extremely humbled and pleased,” he said. “I feel like it’s a vote of confidence. We have some new faces here. We lost some good people. To have an opportunity to lead this group, I am proud to be a part of it.”
This will be McDaniel’s second term as mayor, having first been selected for the job in 2021.
Also Monday, Commissioner Jim Bojo was selected as mayor pro tem.
Two new commissioners, Harry Brock and Wayne Robinson, were also sworn in during the meeting.
