Woman accused of forging doctor’s note for student

An Armuchee area woman was jailed late last week on a 1st-degree forgery charge.

According to the arrest warrant:

31-year-old Jennifer Leigh Vasser forged the signature of a doctor to falsify a doctor’s note to excuse a child’s absence at Armuchee Primary School.

Floyd County Schools Superintendent Glenn White told the Rome News-Tribune that Vasser has submitted multiple false doctor’s notes over a period of several months.

Man facing drug charge following traffic stop

A 19-year-old was arrested late last week at Second Avenue and East 8th Street on a felony count of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Franklin Godfrey Aguilar-Guzman was found with cannabis oil, suspected marijuana, and two open containers of an alcoholic beverage.

He was additionally charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, DUI, open container, suspended registration, and a tag light violation.

Woman arrested after being found with Xanax, alprazolam

A 23-year-old Kingston woman was arrested Friday on Wade Street on two counts of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Kathryn Ann Ingram had a blue prescription bottle with her name on it.

The prescription was for trazodone, but the bottle contained suspected Xanax and alprazolam pills.

Ingram is also charged with possession of drugs not in the original container.

Man reports being attacked by pit bulls

A man reported being attacked by two pit bulls at his Wadsworth Street home last week.

According to a Rome Police Department report:

The man told officers that he had just pulled into his driveway when after getting off of work.

When he got out of his truck, the two dogs ran at him and attempted to attack him.

The man pulled out his gun and shot at the dogs, which fled to a neighbor’s yard, where they came from.

The neighbor told police he had taken possession of the dogs when his father who is the owner was arrested a couple of weeks ago.

One of the pit bulls was bleeding from the paw but otherwise, it seemed okay.
