Report: Man pointed a gun at another, pulled the trigger

A Silver Creek man was arrested over the weekend at his Wax Road home on a felony aggravated assault charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

66-year-old John Timothy Dobson pointed a firearm at another man and pulled the trigger.

Dobson also kicked a door off its hinges and damaged several items in the kitchen.

He was additionally charged with 1st-degree criminal damage to property.

Warrant: Woman stole $461 worth of pulled pork from school

A 46-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with theft by taking.

According to the warrant:

Natasha Shermine Driver took four cases of pulled pork from Pepperell Middle School on Hughes Dairy Road in Lindale between February 22 and March 12.

She told co-workers that the pork was being transferred to another school, but that transfer never occurred.

Driver was seen loading the $461 worth of pork into her vehicle.

Inmates charged following fight

Two inmates at the Floyd County Jail are facing felony charges of unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.

According to jail records:

26-year-old Israel Chase Terry and 46-year-old Jose Israel Sierra got into a fight late last week.

Terry has been in jail since February 22 when he was arrested for felony theft by shoplifting.

Sierra has been incarcerated since March 20 on a contempt of superior court charge.

Report: Inmate punched another inmate in the nose

A Rome woman, incarcerated in the Floyd County Jail, is accused of giving another inmate a bloody nose.

According to jail records:

43-year-old Carmecka Shunta Snelling punched the victim in the nose and was charged with battery and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.

Snelling has been in jail since December of 2023 after being arrested for identity theft.

She is also being held for Coweta County authorities.
