Man arrested in attempted stabbing

A South Rome man was arrested Monday after he allegedly tried to stab another man with a kitchen knife.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

57-year-old Billy Robert Kelly Jr. attempted to stab the victim in the abdomen during a fight at Kelly’s residence on Cotton Avenue.

Kelly is charged with a felony count of aggravated assault.

Woman facing drug charges following traffic stop

A West Rome woman was arrested Monday on drug charges following a traffic stop for a tag light violation on Turner McCall Boulevard at Dogwood Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

35-year-old Jessica Leann Bond had a headache medicine bottle in her purse, which contained oxycodone, hydrocodone, and amphetamine pills.

A digital scale was also located in the glove box of the vehicle.

She is charged with possession of Schedule II controlled substances, possession of drugs not in the original container, possession of drug-related objects, and no tag light.
