Man charged with aggravated assault

A 44-year-old Rome man is accused of cutting another man at his Old Dalton Road home back on May 26.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

Joshua Franklin Price followed the victim around with a cutting object during an argument.

As the victim was walking away, Price pushed him and then cut him.

Price is charged with aggravated assault, battery, simple battery, and simple assault.

Man accused of making threats

A Kingston man was arrested early Thursday after he allegedly threatened to kill his wife and son.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

43-year-old Luis Alberto Ambriz also detained the woman against her will and kicked a door off the hinges at the home on Gentry Road, causing his daughter to hide in fear.

Ambriz is charged with terroristic threats and acts, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, simple battery, simple assault, false imprisonment, and criminal damage to property.

Report: Woman broke man’s finger

A 48-year-old Rome woman was arrested Wednesday on a felony aggravated battery charge following an argument at her East 11th Street apartment.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Jeana Lynn Dunn jumped on a man, breaking his right finger.

Dunn is also being held on a probation violation.

Teen charged with theft by receiving a stolen firearm

One of three teens arrested after a gun was fired during a foot chase with police on May 25 is facing an additional charge of theft by receiving stolen property.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

The firearm that 17-year-old Kevin Cruz-Rico had was stolen from an automobile in 2022.

Paulding County teen arrested after police pursuit

A Dallas, Georgia teen was booked into the Floyd County Jail Wednesday after reportedly leading police on a chase that began near Adairsville and ended near Summerville.

According to jail records:

A vehicle driven by 18-year-old Heath Brian Vinyard was clocked going 73 miles per hour on Highway 140 at Buttrum Road.

Vinyard sped up to 120 miles per hour as he was being pursued by police.

The pursuit continued onto Highway 27 where another vehicle was struck at Gore-Subligna Road.

Vinyard was finally taken into custody on West Armuchee Road.

He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, speeding, passing in a no-passing zone, and failing to maintain a lane.

Teen arrested for criminal trespass, terroristic threats

A Rome teen was arrested Wednesday after she reportedly refused to leave Arby’s on Martha Berry Boulevard.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

17-year-old Tan’Niya Jakeise Lataye Howard stayed inside the business after being asked by management to leave several times.

She threatened to put her ex-girlfriend’s nude pictures on social media and threatened to beat up a police officer if he broke her phone.

Howard is charged with criminal trespass, terroristic threats and acts, and obstruction of officers.

Two arrested on drug charges

A West Rome woman and a Cedartown man are facing drug charges following a traffic stop early Thursday on Highway 411 at Biddy Cutoff Road.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by 31-year-old Victoria Shiann Champion was driving in the left-hand lane, impeding the flow of traffic.

35-year-old Brandon Lee Wayne Garlin was a passenger in the vehicle.

During the attempted traffic stop, a bag containing a large amount of suspected methamphetamine was thrown from the vehicle.

Two digital scales were also found in the vehicle.

Champion and Garlin are charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, and tampering with evidence.

Champion is additionally charged with impeding the flow of traffic, no insurance and driving with a suspended license.

Man charged with possession of crack cocaine

A South Rome man is facing drug charges following his arrest on East 16th at Strand Street Wednesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

53-year-old Antione Leonard Langston tried to run from authorities as they were trying to arrest him on a warrant.

He was then found with crack cocaine.

Langston is charged with possession of cocaine, obstruction, and a probation violation.
