Woman charged with child cruelty

A Celanese woman is accused of leaving three children unsupervised while she went to a local bar.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

There was no edible food in the home for the children aged 9 to 15.

Police found the residence on Ash Street was not fit to live in with trash, moldy food scraps, and an obvious roach infestation.

36-year-old Kristin Michelle Morgan is charged with three counts of 2nd-degree cruelty to children.

Two arrested on drug charges

Two Rome women were recently arrested at a location on Kingston Highway on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

39-year-old Brittany Nicole Waits and 30-year-old Kylin Denise Williams had a bag of suspected methamphetamine and a container of burnt marijuana in the vehicle they were in.

Both are charged with possession of meth and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Teen charged with felony marijuana possession

A Rome teen who was stopped by police on Shorter Avenue for reportedly driving without his headlights on was additionally charged with felony possession of marijuana.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

17-year old Nevin Brian Boswell had more than an ounce of marijuana in his possession.
