Two charged with meth trafficking

A traffic stop on Redmond Road in Rome on Tuesday ended with the arrest of two Summerville residents on drug trafficking charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by 47-year-old Timothy James Sweeney was stopped for failure to maintain a lane.

Following a K9 alert, a search of the vehicle turned up 120 grams of methamphetamine and a digital scale.

Sweeney and 41-year old Samantha Crowe Deberry are charged with trafficking meth, possession of meth, possession of meth with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug-related objects.

Deberry is additionally charged with possession of Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substances, and possession of drugs not in the original container after she was found with additional meth and alprazolam.
