The Georgia State Patrol –
Georgia State Troopers announced that they will be conducting high-visibility patrols during the New Year’s holiday travel period, from Monday, December 30th, starting at 6:00 p.m. through Wednesday, January 1st, 2025.
Their focus is on reducing crashes and ensuring safety by targeting impaired and unsafe driving.
In last year’s New Year’s holiday period, there were nine statewide fatalities, with GSP investigating 317 crashes that resulted in 177 injuries and three deaths.
Motorists are urged to drive sober, obey traffic laws, and prioritize safety.
Plan for a sober ride if consuming alcohol—use a taxi, rideshare, or designated driver.
