At approximately 9 am on October 25, the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office received a report from the administration at Swain Elementary School of a physical incident involving a fourth-grade student and a substitute teacher.
Deputies from the Sheriff’s School Resource Officers Unit immediately initiated an investigation into the matter.
As a result of the investigation, Olivia Forrest, age 22, of Calhoun, was arrested and charged with one count of simple battery, and one count of disruption of a public school.
The circumstances surrounding this incident are still under investigation.
