Fourth arrest made in Silver Creek robbery
An 18-year-old has been arrested on charges of robbery, theft by taking, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Owen Wade Dotson is the fourth person arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred on October 4 on Doyle Street in Silver Creek.
According to Floyd County Jail records, $100 was taken from the 15-year-old victim at gunpoint.
17-year-old Ayden Ryan Matthews of Rome and 17-year-old Isaiah Grant Fortune of Silver Creek on felony counts of robbery and other charges in the incident while 18-year-old Taylor Elizabeth Ashley of Cedartown is charged with party to the crime of robbery and other counts.
Man charged in conspiracy to deliver contraband to prison work detail
A 30-year-old Jonesboro man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Tuesday on charges of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act.
According to jail records:
Damien Jamal Harris delivered 25.75 grams of methamphetamine, nearly 107 grams of marijuana, and three pounds of tobacco to the Aragon home of the mother of an inmate at the Floyd County Prison on July 7.
The woman then delivered the items to her son’s work detail.
Harris is also charged with the use of a communications facility to commit a crime involving drugs and possession of items prohibited for inmates.
Man charged with four counts of burglary
A Rome man has been charged with burglaries dating back to December of last year and January of this year.
According to arrest warrants:
42-year-old Patrick Rodricas Smith used a large rock to break the glass of a business at 500 Burnett Ferry Road on December 5 and stole lottery tickets from inside.
Smith also entered a business at 4428 Martha Berry Highway on December 27, using the same method.
On January 3, he used a rock to enter a business at 7130 New Calhoun Highway where he again stole lottery tickets.
Then on January 15, Smith took money from the cash register of a store at 1308 Maple Avenue.
He is charged with four counts of 2nd-degree burglary and a single count of criminal trespass.
Man charged with meth possession
Rome Police arrested a Summerville man Tuesday on possession of methamphetamine charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
52-year-old Vance Eric Bailey was found with suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop on Martha Berry Highway at Old Summerville Road.
