Man charged with burglary, theft
A 43-year-old Rome man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with 2nd-degree burglary.
According to the warrant:
David Lee Hartline entered two storage buildings on Spout Springs Road between January 1 and February 1, 2022.
He then took a circular saw, a weed eater, a chainsaw, an air compressor, a camping lantern, a tire inflator, a brush guard, a pair of duck waders, and tools, valued at a combined $1,386.
Hartline is also charged with a misdemeanor count of theft by taking.
Woman accused of having Xanax while at the Floyd County Jail
A woman initially arrested for misdemeanor theft by shoplifting is facing felony charges after she was found with drugs at the Floyd County Jail.
According to jail records:
59-year-old Audrey Ann House of Rome concealed three items in her purse at the Atrium Floyd gift shop.
Once at the jail, she was found with a glass smoking device and five Xanax pills.
House is charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, possession of drug-related objects, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.
Man charged with auto theft
A 22-year-old Rome man was arrested Tuesday on a felony count of theft by taking a motor vehicle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Dustin Paul Lewis Cronan took the victim’s vehicle without permission from a location on Shorter Avenue back on September 7.
The vehicle was valued at $6,000.
Cronan is also being held on a probation violation.
