According to an arrest warrant:
45-year-old Suhail Solaris was paid $15,000 by the victim for property improvements, but never did the work.
Solaris is charged with a felony count of conversion of payments for real property improvements.
Report: Man struck 15-year-old
A 24-year-old East Rome man is facing charges following an incident at his East 14th Street home.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Mason Keith Shedd struck a 15-year-old in the head, causing a swollen lump.
Shedd is charged with battery and 1st-degree cruelty to children.
Man charged with forgery
A fake $50 bill lands a Cartersville man in the Floyd County Jail.
According to jail records:
35-year-old Taylor Diaz-Avant used the bogus money in a gambling machine at a store on Maple Road in Rome.
He is charged with 1st-degree forgery.
Man arrested for meth possession
An Armuchee man was recently on drug charges at a location on North Broad Street.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
46-year-old Joseph Weldon Hubbard was found with suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.
He is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.
