The Floyd County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday at the County Administration building located at 12 East 4th Avenue in Rome.
The Caucus will begin at 4:00 p.m. in the Caucus Room (Suite 204), followed by the Board Meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Room (Suite 206).
The caucus will include an executive session to discuss property acquisition, litigation, and/or personnel.
The agenda for the regular meeting will include a bid for roadway-design engineering for the Mango Road project to Southern Engineering and Surveying, Inc., in the amount of $110,000, using funds from the 2023 special-purpose, local option sales tax.
The project includes improvements to the paved section of Mango Road and its intersection with Calhoun Road, as well as upgrading and paving the gravel portion of the road.
The total cost is budgeted at $2.5 million.
The commission will also consider the replacement of seven HVAC units for the Floyd County Jail, and the removal of Runway 7/25 on-airport obstructions at Richard B. Russell Regional Airport.
The commission will also consider a request from Public Works to approve the Local Maintenance Improvement Grant Safety Action Plan Agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation.
