Rome City Schools has named Paris Kirby as the new head softball coach at Rome High School.
Coach Kirby brings a strong playing background and coaching experience to the Lady Wolves softball program.
Kirby most recently served as an assistant coach at Calhoun Middle School as well as coaching travel ball. After a standout high school career at Calhoun High School, Kirby played collegiately at Georgia Military College and Shorter University, earning numerous athletic and academic honors. During her time at Georgia Military College, she was recognized as a GCAA Second Team All-Region selection, an NFCA All-American Scholar-Athlete, an All-Region performer and an NJCAA All-Academic honoree.
“We’re excited to welcome Coach Paris Kirby to Rome High School and our athletics family,” Rome High School Athletic Director Chris Boden said. “She brings energy, a strong knowledge of the game and a passion for developing student-athletes. We believe she will build meaningful relationships with our players while continuing the tradition of excellence in our softball program.”
Kirby said she is excited to begin building relationships with her players and becoming part of the Rome community.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to lead the Rome High School softball program,” Kirby said. “I’m excited to get to know our student-athletes, build a strong team culture and compete at a high level. I can’t wait to get to work and become part of the Rome family.”
