The Rome High School Wind Ensemble has earned the high honor of being invited to perform at the 12th Annual Music for All Southeastern Regional Concert Festival.
The ensemble is one of only eight high school groups selected to perform at the festival, which will be held March 24-25, 2027, at the Rialto Center for the Arts at Georgia State University. More than 30 ensembles from four southeastern states submitted recordings for consideration.
“This recognition is a tremendous honor for our students and a reflection of the countless hours they dedicate to their craft,” said Dr. Tab Brown, Rome City Schools Director of Fine Arts and director of the Rome High School Wind Ensemble. “To be selected through a blind audition process from such an outstanding field of ensembles speaks volumes about the talent, discipline, and commitment of our students. We are excited to represent Rome City Schools and our community on one of the Southeast’s premier stages for instrumental music.”
The selection process was conducted anonymously. Each ensemble was assigned a number, and nationally recognized music educators evaluated the recordings without knowing the identity of the performers. Rome High School’s Wind Ensemble was ultimately selected based solely on the quality of its performance.
In addition to performing at the festival, students will participate in instrument master classes led by industry professionals, perform for a panel of higher education music educators, and have the opportunity to observe performances by some of the region’s finest high school ensembles.
Superintendent Dr. Eric L. Holland said the recognition reflects the district’s commitment to excellence across every academic and extracurricular program.
“At Rome City Schools, moving the needle means creating opportunities for students to excel in every area, including the fine arts,” Dr. Holland said. “Our music programs continue to demonstrate that our students can compete with the very best, and this honor showcases the exceptional work being done by our students, teachers and fine arts staff. We are incredibly proud of the Rome High School Wind Ensemble and look forward to watching them represent our district with excellence.”
Music for All is a nationally recognized music education advocacy organization dedicated to expanding access to music education and supporting excellence in student performance through regional and national events.
The performance marks another milestone for Rome City Schools’ nationally recognized fine arts program and continues to highlight the district’s commitment to providing students with opportunities to learn, perform, and achieve at the highest levels.
