Man charged in burglary
A third person has been arrested in a burglary on Collins Road off of Morrison Campground Road earlier this week.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Jeremy Thomas Berry of Rome and the others entered the residence by damaging a back door and attempted to steal two firearms.
They were in possession of a stolen vehicle and tools commonly used in burglaries.
Berry is charged with 1st-degree burglary, theft by taking, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, theft by receiving stolen property, and possession of tools for the commission of a crime.
The other two suspects, 43-year-old Patricia Nicole Johnson and 18-year-old Magnum McFreddy Dover, were arrested earlier in the week.
Man facing charges of child cruelty, criminal damage to property, and felony obstruction
A Rosemont Park man is facing multiple charges in an incident that occurred on Alfred Avenue on September 17.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
29-year-old Michael Andrew Cook entered a residence, damaging the door, a window, a screen, and curtains.
This occurred while the victim and her two children were in the home.
Cook is also accused of damaging the camera system in a Floyd County Police Department vehicle and intentionally spreading blood across the back seat.
He is charged with 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, 1st-degree cruelty to children, criminal trespass, interference with government property, and felony obstruction of law enforcement.
Report: Man stole law book from jail
A Rome man is accused of stealing a book from the Floyd County Jail.
According to jail records:
56-year-old Kevin Jerod Heard took the property belonging to the sheriff’s office on Monday of this week.
The item that was stolen was an Official Code of Georgia law book, valued at $30.
